Our Mission: We Are Living Arts will create, heal and inspire Indigenous and Alaskan Native Youth through positive peer to peer mentoring, cultural integration, and an exploration of all arts.

Virtual wala
WALA has added their 5 to 10 day program to a virtual experience for middle and high school ages.
Youth will experience diverse types of arts (depending on availability of artist) : Photographer, Dance/Movement, Poetry/Spoken Word, Writing, Rap/R&B, Traditional Singing, Comedy, Cultural Arts
WALA assists youth to become solution orientated, build resiliency, and embrace positive self-identity through various restorative practices through creative arts.
WALA encompasses 3 main components inclusive of culture and contemporary ideals.
Rise Up focuses on individuality as a collective for participants. The three main elements integrated are Leadership, Cooperative Alliance, and Voice. Based on curriculum that has been over 35 years in the making in Indian country, youth learn skills and knowledge surrounding self development and relationship building as a group and at a personal level through Peer to Peer Mentoring.
Environment will engage the youth in their own surrounding through activities
Art Inspired engages youth by allowing them to explore and express themselves through the use of all art forms including Performing, Visual, and Literary Arts. Cultural Indigenous Arts will also be integrated.
All components address prevention and empower youth to cope with today’s societal challenges.
We welcome all indigenous youth i.e. Alaskan Natives, Tribes, Nations, Pacific Islanders, First Nations, etc. and offer service for middle school, high school, and mentorship for ages 18 and up.
